Chapter 29 The Vanished Sausage
Chapter 29 The Vanished Sausage
“Congratulations, Dad! You’re so good at making money, Ze!” Sunwoo’s mom said to Ze’s dad.
Paula's dad glanced at Aze's dad from the side, shook his head, and sighed, "Sigh, some families' kids are still busy spending money! What kind of good fortune did Aze's dad accumulate in his past lives?"
Paula's mom ignored her husband's sighs and looked up at Jung-hwan's dad, asking, "Jung-hwan's dad, come and eat too. Isn't it ready yet?"
Paula's dad instantly found a target to complain about and shouted, "Ugh! What's the use of being a millionaire? Buying such expensive things and not even knowing how to use them! Oh well! Never mind, come sit down here. What's with all the music playing in broad daylight? It's so noisy!"
"Let's have a drink together first!" Ms. Leopard knew her husband was very focused and wouldn't come over until things were done, so she suggested directly.
After hearing this, the group laughed and picked up their glasses, shouting:
"Cheers!"
"Congratulations!"
Congratulations, Aze's dad!
While toasting, they didn't forget to congratulate the person who was hosting the dinner.
After drinking for a while, the doorbell rang suddenly, which puzzled everyone.
"Who is it?" Sunwoo's mother asked, puzzled.
"Who is it? It looks like someone's coming!" Zhengfeng's father turned around and asked.
Just as the group was exchanging bewildered glances, Sunwoo's mother asked, "Taek's dad, what did I tell you to buy?"
"What?" Aze's father looked puzzled.
"I told you, what should we buy first when we have money?" Before Taek's father, who was full of doubt, could answer, Sunwoo's mother answered herself: "An apartment!" (This is a double entendre, referring to the song "Apartment" sung by Yoon Soo-il.)
As soon as Shanyu's mother got up, the singing came from Zhengfeng's father's stereo. It turned out that the doorbell call was just the prelude to the song. Shanyu's mother was twisting her body and shouting loudly, and Zhengfeng's father also joined the dancing crowd. Several neighbors watched with smiles as the two guys who had been keeping secrets were now casually dancing to the music.
"Hey~ Get up! Get up!" Zhengfeng's dad pulled up Paula's mom, who was sitting next to him. Paula's mom joined the dance group and performed a dance move by one of the three queens of Phoenix Hall Alley...
Rewind ten minutes. While they were noisily discussing how to use the 50 million won that Taek had earned, Deok-sun was carefully searching through the refrigerator. After seeing the drinks, she took them out and continued looking for something, muttering, "I remember having these here?"
After searching for a while without finding it, Deok-sun took her drink, walked to the table, picked up the cup, and prepared to go back. When she turned around, she saw Jin-joo eating two large sausages.
Deok-sun thought to herself, "No wonder I couldn't find it." She squatted down, bit her lip, and put on a 'bad guy' look, smiling as she asked Pearl:
"Pearls~ Are they delicious?"
Pearl looked at her and nodded.
"Sister, would you like a bite?"
Pearl reached out and handed it to her.
Deok-sun revealed a triumphant expression, opened her blood-red mouth wide, and bit directly into the spot where Pearl was holding her hand.
Pearl looked at the sausage that had disappeared from her hand and broke down in tears.
"Here you go! It's all here!" Deok-sun was so startled that she handed the sausage she had just bitten into back to Jin-joo.
Pearl cried even louder when she saw the sausage that she had eaten.
Deok-sun looked at Jin-joo with an embarrassed and helpless expression.
Just then, Deok-sun looked up at the music and saw her mother, aunts, and uncles dancing wildly, her face full of helplessness...
Turning back again, Pearl stopped crying, stood up, and was wiggling her hips to the music. Deok-sun pouted, obediently put down the sausage, picked up her drink and cup, and went back.
"It's starting again!" Deok-sun went inside, closed the door, and sat cross-legged on the floor.
"Who are the singers we invited today?" the salamander asked.
“The same ones who come regularly,” Deok-sun replied.
“My mom and…” Sunwoo began, but Jung-hwan continued:
"My dad..."
Deok-sun sighed as she listened to the singing outside the door. She picked up a cup, poured a drink for Yoo Seo-woo, and handed it to him.
"Oh~ Deok-sun~ Thank you." Yoo Seo-woo took it and thanked him with a smile.
"Hehe!" Deok-sun responded with a smile.
"Oh! Hey! What about ours? Why did you only pour it for Shuyu? That's too much!" The salamander sprang up from the bed and sat up to ask.
"Can't you just fall down yourself?" Deok-sun was about to fall down, but when she heard him shout, she put it on the ground instead. She waved her hand as if to hit him, because she wasn't going to tolerate her childhood friends.
Liu Shuyu smiled sheepishly and was about to pick up the drinks to pour them for them.
Just then, Aze got there first. He smiled, picked up a cup and drinks, and poured a few glasses for everyone.
"Oh, thank you!" Sunwoo took the drink and thanked Taek.
"Our Taek is so sensible! I really want to..." The dragonfish took the drink but didn't forget to complain about Deok-sun, and even waved at Deok-sun as if to hit her, but he didn't have the guts.
Jung-hwan took the drink and smiled at Taek. With his keen senses, he glanced at Deok-sun and seemed to have noticed something. There was something off about Deok-sun and Yoo Seo-woo these past few days, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Recently, Deok-sun has been frequently going to Yoo Seo-woo's house to eat and drink for free. In the mornings, she would also ask Yoo Seo-woo to go to school on the bus together. He even saw Yoo Seo-woo handing Deok-sun breakfast once or twice. With his keen senses, he has already noticed something is amiss.
Outside the door, the crowd was singing loudly, and Sunwoo's mother was singing along with her devilish dance moves, accompanied by two backup dancers who were also performing devilish dance moves.
Not to be outdone, Ms. Leopard stood up and swayed to the music. Four people, four different dance moves—it was truly a chaotic dance of demons...
The group inside were discussing a birthday present for Aze when the giant salamander suddenly sat up and said, "Hey! The Brazilian stir-fried rice cake shop is closing! They close early every Saturday!"
It was exactly the scene that Deok-sun and Yoo Seo-woo saw when they entered: a group of people were about to have Taek treat them to stir-fried rice cakes.
The group, reminded by the giant salamander, quickly prepared to leave.
As soon as the door opened, Jung-hwan and Do-yoon were so startled by the chaotic scene that they leaned back in shock. Jung-hwan, looking speechless, picked up his backpack from behind Pearl, and Do-yoon followed suit, picking up his backpack as well and going outside.
Deok-sun was holding Yoo Seo-woo's hand, about to leave, when Bora's mother saw them and called out, "Where are you going?"
“Let’s go eat stir-fried rice cakes!” Deok-sun replied.
Taek followed Sunwoo out. Sunwoo kissed his sister Jinju, picked up his clothes, and pulled Taek out with him.
"We're leaving!" Sunwoo politely said goodbye to everyone.
This scene was captured by a camera that had been left running nearby, along with footage of Deok-sun's wicked big mouth stealing the sausage from Jin-joo's hand...
