Chapter 204 New Challenges
Chapter 204 New Challenges
The Tianxin Sect's reputation was at its zenith, and the disciples devoted themselves to cultivation, their lives seemingly peaceful and serene. However, the gears of fate always begin to turn unexpectedly, and a sudden crisis shattered this tranquility.
That morning, just as the first rays of sunlight touched the main hall of the Heavenly Heart Sect, a messenger rushed in, his face filled with panic, bringing shocking news: on the edge of the Spirit Illusion Continent, some mysterious monsters had appeared. These monsters were enormous, surrounded by eerie auras, and wherever they went, villages were mercilessly trampled, and the people were plunged into misery.
"What? Such a thing has happened?" Upon hearing this, Lin Qing's brows furrowed instantly, his face filled with worry.
Jasmine stood up abruptly, her eyes as resolute as the North Star in the cold night: "These monsters are wantonly harming the people, and our Tianxin Sect cannot sit idly by. I have decided to lead my disciples to investigate and find out what is going on."
Qin Feng also stood up, crossed his arms, and said in a deep voice, "I agree with Jasmine's idea. The appearance of these monsters is too strange. Only by finding out the truth can we better protect the Spirit Fantasy Continent."
Ye Lan gently stroked the jade flute in her hand and nodded slightly: "That's right, but this journey will probably be fraught with danger, so everyone must be extra careful."
After some discussion, Jasmine carefully selected a group of disciples with outstanding cultivation and rich experience, including Yichen, Mengli, Lingfeng, and Xiaoyou, to form an investigation team, ready to set off immediately.
"This mission is arduous, so everyone must proceed with extreme caution. Our primary task is to investigate the origins and purposes of these monsters, and to avoid conflict as much as possible." Before departing, Jasmine spoke solemnly, her gaze sweeping over each disciple in turn.
"Yes, Elder Jasmine!" the disciples replied in unison, their eyes filled with determination and resolve, as if they were ready to face any challenge.
After several days of arduous travel, the investigation team finally arrived at the edge of the Spirit Realm. The scene before them was shocking: the once peaceful and tranquil village was now in ruins, houses had collapsed in large numbers, farmland was barren, and the people were displaced, their eyes filled with fear and despair.
"These monsters are awful!" Xiaoyou's face flushed red with anger as she saw this, and she clenched her fists in fury.
"Everyone, don't act rashly. Let's find a villager and ask them what's going on." Yi Chen remained calm and quickly made a judgment.
They found an old man shivering in a dilapidated house. When the old man saw them, a glimmer of hope instantly ignited in his eyes.
"Are you here to save us? Those monsters are terrifying. They are incredibly strong and can release strange energy," the old man said, his voice trembling and on the verge of tears.
"Grandpa, don't be afraid. We are disciples of the Heavenly Heart Sect, here to deal with these monsters. Can you tell us where these monsters came from?" Jasmine stepped forward and gently comforted the old man, her voice as gentle as a spring breeze.
The old man recalled, "A few days ago, a black crack suddenly appeared in the sky, and these monsters crawled out of the crack and started to wreak havoc everywhere."
"A black crack?" Ling Feng frowned in confusion. "This sounds too eerie. Could it be a creature from another world?"
Upon hearing this, everyone felt a sense of unease, as if a heavy stone was pressing on their chests. Jasmine decided to go to the place where the monster had appeared first, hoping to find a crucial clue.
When they arrived at the place where the black crack appeared, a strange and eerie aura rushed towards them. The ground was covered with strange marks, as if it had been torn apart by some powerful force.
"Everyone be careful, something's off about the atmosphere here," Jasmine said warily, her eyes revealing an unprecedented level of caution.
Just then, a deafening roar suddenly came from afar. Looking over, everyone saw several enormous monsters charging towards them, baring their fangs and claws. These monsters had bizarre appearances, their bodies covered in black scales, their eyes flashing with blood-red light, and they constantly spewed black smoke from their mouths, seemingly corroding the air wherever they went.
"Prepare for battle!" Jasmine shouted, casting her spell first. Her hands moved swiftly, forming hand seals, and a dazzling light shot out from her hands like a sharp sword, hurtling straight towards the monster.
The monsters, however, seemed unafraid of Jasmine's attacks. They swung their enormous claws, easily scattering the light as if it were nothing more than a wisp of insignificant smoke.
Seeing this, Yi Chen immediately circulated his internal energy, lightly tapped the ground, and rushed towards the monster like a black lightning bolt. He unleashed the technique he had just mastered, gathering energy in his fist and smashing it down on the monster with unstoppable momentum. The monster was struck by this punch, and its massive body was forced back several steps, but it quickly recovered and pounced on Yi Chen even more frantically.
Mengli manipulated the natural elements, chanting incantations and summoning a gust of wind to try and halt the monsters' advance. However, the monsters moved freely in the wind, which was to them nothing more than a gentle caress.
Ling Feng activated his spatial perception ability, focusing his gaze intently as he tried to find the monsters' weaknesses. He discovered that the monsters' eyes seemed to be their vital points.
"Attack their eyes!" Ling Feng shouted at the top of his lungs.
Upon hearing this, everyone changed their attack methods. Xiao You unleashed wind blades, which shot towards the monster's eyes like sharp knives; Ling Feng, on the other hand, used spatial power to compress Xiao You's wind blades, instantly increasing their already sharp power.
A monster was struck in the eye by a wind blade, letting out a painful roar that echoed through the sky. It swung its claws wildly, destroying the surrounding trees and sending wood chips flying everywhere.
"Oh no, this monster has gone berserk!" Yi Chen shouted, his voice tinged with tension.
Just as everyone was locked in a fierce battle with the monsters, Jasmine suddenly realized that the monsters' actions seemed to be controlled by some kind of force. Her eyes gleamed as she carefully observed her surroundings, and she spotted a mysterious figure watching them from the shadows not far away.
"So that's it, these monsters are being controlled!" Jasmine thought to herself. She immediately cast a spell, her feet barely touching the ground, and rushed towards the mysterious figure.
Upon realizing that Jasmine had spotted it, the mysterious figure turned and fled with ghostly speed. Jasmine gave chase, and the two raced through the forest, creating a rustling sound.
"Don't run!" Jasmine shouted, her voice carrying an undeniable authority.
The mysterious figure stopped and slowly turned around. His white hair was like winter frost, his face was cold and stern, and his eyes revealed a ruthless edge. He was none other than the evil cultivator Chi Xiao.
“You shouldn’t have come here,” Chi Xiao said coldly, his voice seemingly coming from the deepest hell, sending chills down everyone’s spine.
"Why are you controlling these monsters to harm the people?" Jasmine asked angrily, her eyes burning with rage.
Chi Xiao let out a sinister laugh that echoed through the mountains and forests, sending chills down everyone's spines: "This is my plan, and you can't stop me." With that, Chi Xiao suddenly vanished from the spot, leaving behind only an eerie silence.
When Jasmine returned to the battlefield, she found that her disciples had temporarily repelled the monsters.
"Elder Jasmine, where is that mysterious person?" Yi Chen asked, his face still showing signs of fatigue from the battle.
“He got away.” Jasmine’s expression was somewhat grave. “But I’m certain that he controlled these monsters, and there must be a bigger conspiracy behind him.”
Upon hearing this, everyone was filled with worry, as if shrouded in a dark cloud.
“Let’s go back to the village first, reassure the people, and then figure out how to find out where Chixiao is,” Jasmine said, her voice tinged with weariness but filled with determination.
Upon returning to the village, the disciples helped the people rebuild their homes and distributed food and medicine. At the same time, they also inquired about Chixiao's whereabouts.
During her conversations with the locals, Xiaoyou learned that a mysterious organization had been active in the area a few days prior. This organization was acting suspiciously and seemed to be searching for something.
"Elder Jasmine, I think this mysterious organization might be related to Chixiao." Xiaoyou told Jasmine the information she had found out.
Jasmine nodded: "Very likely. We must find them as soon as possible and stop their plot."
Just as everyone was preparing to set off again to search for clues, countless black cracks suddenly appeared in the sky, and more monsters emerged from the cracks, baring their fangs and claws as they surged toward the village.
"Oh no, these monsters are back, and there are even more of them!" Ling Feng shouted in terror, his voice filled with despair.
Everyone immediately braced themselves for battle, as an even fiercer fight was about to erupt. Whether they could uncover Chi Xiao's conspiracy and protect the peace of the Spirit Illusion Continent in this battle remained to be seen, awaiting their valiant efforts to find the answers.
