Chapter 11 Desperate Search and Mysterious Clues

Wanru collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down her face, her heart filled with despair. Huanmo's pale, lifeless face kept appearing before her eyes. Every time she thought that he might leave her, Wanru's heart felt like it was being pounded, the pain making it hard to breathe.

"Young Master Huanmo, you can't die! I must find a way to save you!" Wanru screamed in her heart, but her mind was a mess, and she had no idea where to start.

She knew that in this Warring States period, with the existing medical conditions, it seemed unlikely that there was any way to save Huanmo's life. The only possible hope was to return to the modern era and use the advanced technology and medical knowledge there to find an antidote.

However, traveling to this era was an accident in itself, so how could she know how to go back? Wanru tried to calm herself down, attempting to recall every detail of the time travel, hoping to find some clues.

She recalled the strange light and powerful energy fluctuations she experienced in the research lab, which seemed to have appeared suddenly after she came into contact with those Warring States period artifacts. Could it be related to those artifacts? But this was the Warring States period, and those artifacts were still far away in a modern research lab, completely beyond her reach.

Wanru stood up and paced back and forth in the room, a hint of fanatical determination in her eyes. At this moment, she couldn't care about anything else; as long as she could save Huanmo, even if there was only a sliver of hope, she was willing to try.

"Perhaps there are some secrets or clues related to time travel in this era?" Wanru suddenly had this thought. She decided not to sit idly by and wait for her fate, but to look for any clues that might be related to time travel.

So, Wanru left Huanmo's room and began to explore the mansion. She first went to the mansion's library, thinking that there might be some ancient books there that recorded mysterious things, which might be related to time travel.

The library was filled with the scent of old books, and rows of bookshelves were filled with all sorts of ancient texts. Wanru flipped through them one by one, her eyes quickly scanning the words on the pages, not missing any potentially useful information.

However, after searching for a long time, she couldn't find anything that was obviously related to time travel. Most of the ancient books recorded the history, culture, and military strategies of that era. Although they were very helpful for her understanding of the Warring States period, they were not directly useful for saving Huanmo at this moment.

Wanru was somewhat disappointed, but she did not give up. She then went to the residences of some of the older servants in the mansion, thinking that these old people who had lived in the mansion for many years might have heard some strange legends, among which perhaps the secret of time travel was hidden.

She asked each of the servants, describing her search for a way to travel to faraway places or experience extraordinary things. The servants looked puzzled, and most simply shook their heads, indicating they had never heard of such a thing.

Just when Wanru was about to despair, an old servant suddenly grabbed her hand, his eyes revealing a hint of mystery.

“Young lady, I’ve heard an ancient legend, I don’t know if it will be of any use to you,” the old servant said in a low voice.

Upon hearing this, Wanru felt a glimmer of hope. She asked eagerly, "Grandpa, please tell me, what legend?"

The old servant glanced around to make sure no one was watching before slowly saying, "I've heard that in that ancient cave outside the city, there's a mysterious treasure. It's said to have magical powers and can grant one wish. However, it's just a legend, and I can't guarantee its truth."

Wanru's heart stirred. She thought, maybe this legendary treasure could really help her realize her wish to return to the modern world? Even if there was only a sliver of a possibility, she had to try.

"Thank you, sir. This legend is very helpful to me. Could you tell me more about the location of that cave?" Wanru said gratefully.

The old servant nodded and then described the location of the cave to Wanru in detail, as well as some things to be aware of when going there.

Wanru remembered the old servant's words and decided to go to the cave immediately to find the treasure. Before leaving, she returned to Huanmo's room, looked at the still unconscious Huanmo, and silently vowed to find a way to save him.

"Young master, you must wait for me to come back. I will go and find a way to save you. You must not be hurt," Wanru said softly, then turned and left the room.

She quickly prepared some necessary items and then headed alone towards the cave outside the city.

Throughout the journey, Wanru felt both nervous and expectant. She didn't know if the legendary treasure truly existed in the cave, nor whether finding it would actually fulfill her wish to return to the modern world. But at this moment, she had no other choice.

Finally, after a long journey, Wanru arrived at the cave the old servant had mentioned. The cave looked very ancient, its entrance hidden by vines and weeds, exuding a mysterious aura.

Wanru took a deep breath and mustered her courage to enter the cave. The cave was dimly lit, and she could only rely on the torch in her hand for light. As she slowly ventured deeper into the cave, a sinister feeling washed over her, causing her to shiver involuntarily.

She cautiously explored the cave, her eyes constantly searching for places where treasure might be hidden.

Just as Wanru was concentrating on her search, she suddenly heard a low buzzing sound, as if something was awakening in the dark.

Wanru was startled. She stopped and listened intently. The buzzing sound grew louder and clearer, seemingly approaching her.
