Chapter 241 Venturing into Danger and Mysterious Ruins

Chapter 241 Venturing into Danger and Mysterious Ruins

Guided by the soft light, the group slowly ventured deeper into the space. The surrounding environment grew increasingly mysterious and eerie; the mist, which had previously emitted a faint glow, thinned, yet exuded a subtly oppressive atmosphere. The light stretched out before them, winding and meandering, like a path leading to an unknown destiny.

Huanmo walked at the head of the group, his heart pounding involuntarily, each step filled with caution and trepidation. "Where will this light lead us? Can we really find the key to unraveling the mysteries of the darkness?" Various thoughts flashed through his mind. On one hand, he hoped to find the power to fight the darkness; on the other hand, he worried that it was a trap set by the enemy.

Ling'er followed closely behind Huanmo, her little hands gripping his clothes tightly, her eyes scanning the surroundings with a mixture of curiosity and nervousness. "Brother Huanmo, it's so quiet here, I'm a little scared," she whispered, her voice unusually clear in the silent space. Despite her fear, her trust in Huanmo gave her the courage to continue.

Wanru and the woman in white walked side by side, both of them wary. Wanru frowned slightly and said in a low voice, "I don't know why, but I always feel like there's a pair of eyes watching us from the shadows." The woman in white nodded gently, "Yes, we can't let our guard down. We must be prepared to deal with danger at any time."

The mysterious figure followed silently at the back of the group, his gaze deep, as if deep in thought. "This space hides too many secrets; what we've experienced is perhaps just the tip of the iceberg," he murmured to himself. Though his voice was soft, it still reached everyone's ears in the quiet atmosphere.

As the group ventured deeper, blurry outlines gradually appeared ahead. The light grew stronger, illuminating everything around them. An ancient and magnificent ruin came into view, its walls covered with exquisite patterns and ancient scripts. Although time had left its mark, its former glory was still palpable.

"Where...where is this?" Ling'er exclaimed in surprise, her eyes wide with astonishment.

Looking at the ancient patterns and characters, Huanmo felt a surge of familiarity. "These patterns seem to have some connection to the runes we saw near the Dark Vortex," he said, moving closer to the wall to try and decipher the text. However, the characters were obscure and difficult to understand; he could only decipher fragments despite racking his brains.

The mysterious man stepped forward and carefully examined the writing on the wall. After a moment, his expression changed slightly. "These writings record an ancient legend. It is said that deep within this continent lies a powerful force that can balance light and darkness. But this force is sealed in a mysterious place, and can only be found through specific rituals and clues."

"Could this power be the key we're looking for to unravel the mystery of the darkness?" Wanru asked.

“Very likely,” the mysterious man nodded.

Just as everyone was discussing, a low roar suddenly came from the ruins. Immediately afterwards, the ground began to shake violently, and cracks spread out from all directions. From the cracks emerged a group of enormous monsters, their bodies covered in black scales, their eyes gleaming with an eerie green light, and emanating a nauseating stench.

"Not good, monsters!" Huanmo shouted, quickly drawing his spiritual sword. He was filled with vigilance; the appearance of these monsters was too sudden, and judging from the aura emanating from them, their strength should not be underestimated.

Ling'er turned pale with fright and clutched the book tightly. "Brother Huanmo, what should we do?" Her voice trembled slightly.

Wanru and the woman in white quickly assumed fighting stances. Wanru's weapon gleamed with a cold light, while the woman in white began to gather spiritual energy in preparation for casting a spell. The mysterious man's staff flashed, and a shield instantly enveloped everyone.

The monsters roared and charged towards the group. They were incredibly fast, reaching the shield in the blink of an eye. One monster extended its sharp claws and slammed them into the shield, causing it to tremble violently.

"These monsters are very powerful, everyone be careful!" the mysterious man said, while increasing the spiritual energy output to the shield.

Huanmo looked at the monsters, his mind racing as he considered a solution. "We can't keep playing defensively; we must take the initiative and find their weaknesses," he said, his eyes filled with determination.

As soon as Huanmo finished speaking, he leaped into the air and charged towards a monster. His spiritual sword gleamed, and he thrust it fiercely towards the monster's neck. Sensing the attack, the monster dodged to the side, avoiding the fatal blow. Then, it opened its blood-red maw and lunged at Huanmo.

Huanmo flipped in mid-air, skillfully dodging the monster's attack, and simultaneously swung her sword again, leaving a wound on the monster's body. The monster roared angrily, and more monsters swarmed towards Huanmo.

Seeing this, Wanru and the woman in white immediately cast spells, sending beams of light and flames towards the monster horde. The monsters roared in response, their actions becoming even more frenzied.

The mysterious figure, inside the shield, continuously observed the monsters' movements. Suddenly, he noticed a lighter-colored scale on one monster's abdomen, seemingly its weak point. "Phantom Ink, attack that monster's abdomen! That might be its weak point!" he shouted.

Hearing the shouts, Huanmo quickly changed direction and charged towards the monster. Seizing the opportunity, he forcefully plunged his spiritual sword into the monster's abdomen. The monster let out a scream and collapsed heavily to the ground. The other monsters seemed to be provoked, attacking the group even more frantically.

Just as everyone was locked in fierce combat with the monster, Ling'er suddenly noticed a pattern on the ruins wall emitting a faint glow. Curious, she approached to examine it and discovered that the lines of the pattern seemed to form a new clue. However, the monster's attacks were growing increasingly intense. Could they defeat the monster while simultaneously unraveling the secret behind this new clue? And could this secret truly help them find the power to balance the darkness? Everything remained uncertain, and a tense atmosphere permeated the entire ruins…
