Chapter 37 Wu Sansheng's Plan (Part 3)
Chapter 37 Wu Sansheng's Plan (Part 3)
Yan Huai saw that Wu Sansheng reacted this way, and probably realized that those people with red bloodlines might be his enemies.
Looking back at the seawater, which had become temporarily murky due to the blood, Yan Huai grabbed Wu Sansheng's arm and led him towards the entrance of the underwater tomb. Upon seeing this, the hideous humanoid monsters scattered like birds and beasts.
Ten minutes later, the two arrived at a slippery deep-sea reef. Wu Sansheng pulled Yan Huai back, who seemed to want to force his way into the tomb. He took out his dagger and forcefully cut open the pitted surface of the bottom of the reef. Yan Huai saw that there was a totem carved inside that looked like a snake but not a fish.
Immediately afterwards, Wu Sansheng took out two bronze artifacts that seemed to fit the underwater tomb from the inner pocket of his backpack. After placing them on the tomb, he pressed hard, and as the surrounding seawater surged and formed a whirlpool, the mechanism of the underwater tomb's door was activated.
Yan Huai only had time to catch a glimpse of Wu Sansheng taking the two bronze artifacts off and clutching them in his hand before he was sucked into the crack that suddenly appeared beneath his feet.
Following the current of the sea, the two were swept away for more than a minute. However, misfortune struck again. With a loud bang, Wu Sansheng's oxygen tank hit the tomb wall and was instantly swept away.
Without thinking twice, Yan Huai swam over and stuffed his oxygen tank into Wu Sansheng's arms. With a push of his left hand, he grabbed Wu Sansheng by the back of his neck and quickly swam towards the shallow water area of the tomb passage.
Poor Wu Sansheng, already quite old, hadn't even had time to put the oxygen tank's breathing tube in his mouth before Yan Huai dragged him into the narrow tomb passage, leaving him only able to exhale a series of bubbles in frustration...
When Yan Huai was finally swept out of the tomb passage, he turned around and saw Wu Sansheng lying on the blue stone steps that were half submerged by seawater, breathing heavily. His oxygen tank... hilarious, there was no time to use it!
"Congratulations, host, on completing mission seven. The system is issuing rewards. Congratulations, host, on obtaining Water-Repelling Pearl x1, Unextinguishable Flame x1, Bloodline Automatic Sensing Ability within a 10-meter Range, and one point (current point is 1)."
As Yan Huai listened to the system's announcement, he casually sat down on the stone steps. Just as he was about to examine the rewards given by the system, he suddenly heard a series of intermittent breathing sounds, as if the person couldn't breathe. He turned his head and saw that it was still Wu Sansheng.
"You...you!" Wu Sansheng didn't even have the strength to raise his hand. He could only slightly curl his index finger to indicate that he was pointing at Yan Huai. "You brat! What's your hurry? I haven't even had a whiff of it yet, and you almost sent me to be reincarnated by the King of Hell!"
Yan Huai coughed lightly, then remembered that he still had a lot of questions to ask Wu Sansheng, and instantly felt that he was in the right.
"Third Master, those four men who came down with us, even if they're the unreliable ones you mentioned!"
Wu Sansheng rolled his eyes and nodded vaguely.
"Even so, you still have a partnership with Qiu Dekao, so why did you leave on your own?"
"Why be polite with foreign devils? They'll just use you and then stay. Are you stupid or am I stupid?!"
Yan Huai felt that Wu Sansheng was treating him like a fool, and his answer to the question was very irrelevant: "I'm asking, what are you planning to do after you left?"
"Let's go into the underwater tomb!"
"and then?"
"Let's catch the treasure!"
"Bullshit!" Yan Huai gritted his teeth and glared at Wu Sansheng, thinking, "Should I make him go back and choke on some more water?"
"You know this underwater tomb like the backyard, how could there be any treasure inside?"
"Uh..." Wu Sansheng was truly speechless and helpless. It was probably only Yan Huai who could leave him speechless!
He glanced up at Yan Huai, who was looking at him sideways, and was instantly dumbfounded. The way Yan Huai looked at him as a liar was exactly the same as his own nephew: "I am indeed going to leave A Ning and the others behind and enter the underwater tomb by myself, but the reason is... I can't tell you right now."
"why?"
"There's no reason why, but if you follow Wu Xie, you'll find out the answer sooner or later. However, if Wu Xie can't find it... then just pretend I didn't say anything!"
Sure enough, it was impossible to get anything out of Wu Sansheng!
Yan Huai slumped his chin, looking utterly dejected. Although there was still A Ning waiting outside for him to deal with, he felt that sticking to Wu Sansheng might yield greater rewards, so it didn't seem to matter if he put the "thank you" aside for now.
Clearly, Wu Sansheng also realized this. It was impossible to get rid of Yan Huai now. Moreover, since he had already asked Yan Huai to come down, he had no intention of actually getting rid of him.
"Come on! Come with me somewhere!"
"where to?"
"A place where traps and mechanisms are constantly being set up."
Actually, it was in the pool of water in another tomb chamber.
Wu Sansheng led Yan Huai to the pool and pointed upwards: "Here, I'll give you a chance to show off. Make a dent in that upside-down stone lion's head."
Yan Huai looked up and saw that the stone lion was at least ten meters above the ground of the tomb. He suddenly realized that the reason Wu Sansheng had asked him to come down was because he needed a helper (tool) to open the mechanism!
"Do not hit!"
Wu Sansheng chuckled and thought to himself, "Little brat, I'll have you figured out in a minute!"
"There's a reason I came here. Even if you don't fight, Black Glasses will come one more day. If you can wait, then keep at it."
"→_→"
Yan Huai resignedly took a small step back. Just as he was about to leap into the air, his gaze shifted and landed on Wu Sansheng's shoulder, a subtle smile playing on his lips.
Before Wu Sansheng could react, he felt a weight on his shoulder. When he came to his senses, he realized that Yan Huai had just kicked him by stepping on his shoulder!
You little rascal! You've got real strength...

The stone lion's head was suddenly jerked back by the impact, followed by a hollow echo of water being pumped out. The entire tomb chamber was used as a medium for the sound collision, causing people's eardrums to bulge slightly.
About three minutes later, the water in the pool was completely drained by the water system at the bottom, and the stone steps inside gradually became visible.
Wu Sansheng glanced at Yan Huai and took the lead in walking down, with Yan Huai following closely behind.
The stone staircase passage was long. Yan Huai used his night vision to look around. There seemed to have been some murals carved on both sides before, but with the passage of time, the water erosion was particularly severe, and the murals were no longer recognizable.
Yan Huai's gaze wandered, but suddenly fixed on one spot. He walked over and reached out to touch the strange symbols: Who left these marks here? What do they mean?
“Host, this is a mark left by Zhang Qiling, meaning that it is passable.”
"He's been here before?"
"Yes!"
"What are you looking at?" Wu Sansheng suddenly appeared, earning Yan Huai a cold, emotionless look in return.
"mark."
