Chapter 32 Live again
Chapter 32 Live again
As Lin Yan and her friends went to town to sell dried fruit a few times, more and more people learned about it. When Lin Yan and her friends came to set up their stall again today, there were already people waiting there in advance.
Upon seeing them arrive, he quickly exclaimed, "Hey, you're finally here! We've been waiting to come and buy today!"
"I bought some for my daughter last time, and she finished it in no time. She kept asking for more!"
"Yes, yes! My wife loves it too. She told me to buy a lot this time, otherwise it won't last three days!"
A crowd gathered around. Lin Yan and Lin Yu now pack their bags before leaving home, and all they have to do is set up a stall, sell their goods, and collect money. Their reputation has spread, so she doesn't need to hawk her wares anymore, as they sell out quickly.
However, this time she spurred the growth of several new trees, more than before.
She and Lin Yu were selling their goods when suddenly a few young men came up, pushed through the crowd, and shouted, "Get out of the way! Make way for us!"
"Get away from me!" Someone shoved aside an older woman in line, causing her to lose her balance and stumble forward, almost falling over.
Fortunately, Lin Yan reacted quickly and caught her, and the woman hurriedly thanked her.
"What are you doing?!" Lin Yu quickly stepped in front and questioned.
Lin Yan looked at the group of people who were clearly there to cause trouble, pulled Lin Yu aside, frowned slightly, and asked, "Do you gentlemen have something to say? You don't look like you're here to buy anything!"
"Is something wrong?! She asked me if something was wrong?! Hahahaha!" The leader, a man with a pockmarked face, laughed exaggeratedly, feigning surprise.
"Hahahaha!" The henchmen behind him laughed along.
"Little girl, ask around here who doesn't know us!" the leader sneered at her.
The steamed bun vendor next to her quickly pulled Lin Yan aside: "Don't argue with them. They're the local bullies, and they come over to collect protection money all the time."
The people around kept their distance, and no one dared to come over.
"Your business seems to be doing quite well! We brothers came especially to give you some support! You have to give us a little something in return!"
"Filial piety? Ha!" Lin Yan sneered, looking at the man with a charming smile, "I'm afraid you can't accept my filial piety..."
"Hahahaha~ She said I can't handle it, but I'm even more curious to see!" The pockmarked man looked at her with mockery, picked up a bag of dried apricots, casually tore it open, and started eating.
The henchman behind her chimed in, "That's right, little girl, be smart! Otherwise, you might end up losing all your business!"
"Oh dear, maybe we should give him some to get rid of him first!"
"Yes, you two siblings are alone, don't let yourselves get taken advantage of!" The surrounding vendors quickly advised.
"Okay!" Lin Yan replied crisply, smiling brightly, "Just don't change your minds later!"
"You can still laugh when you see us? Looks like we'll have to ask for more!"
"Sure! I'll give you more!" Lin Yan turned her neck and loosened her wrists.
"Hmph! You're smart to know what's good for you!" the men chuckled with satisfaction. They had no idea what was going to happen next.
"Lai Ma! What are you doing!" A shout interrupted the group.
Lin Yan turned her head and saw the person who came in, raising an eyebrow. She thought to herself: It's someone I know!
"Fu Bo, this is mine!" Lai Ma saw that the person who came was also unhappy, but he didn't dare to offend him.
"What are you doing?" Fu Bo came over alone, looking at Lin Yan, his lips twitching but he didn't say anything. He only asked Lai Ma.
"What else can we do but collect protection money?!" Lai Ma looked displeased, feeling that his good deed had been interrupted.
Lin Yu stared at Fu Bo's face, lost in thought. After a while, he suddenly realized and tugged at Lin Yan's sleeve, "Sister, isn't this the one who caused trouble at the Lin family before!"
“It’s him!” Lin Yan nodded.
Do you know him?
"I guess so!" It's just that the way we met was a bit unusual.
"We can't accept protection money from this person!" Fu Bo didn't say much and directly stopped Lai Ma.
"Why should I take it? This land has always been mine!" Lai Ma said, looking indignant.
"You can't afford to mess with this guy!" Fu Bo leaned forward and warned him in a low voice.
"She has connections?!" Lai Mazi was surprised at first, then looked at Lin Yan's clothes and shook his head. "Doesn't seem like it! She's just a village girl!"
"Hmph, I've heard you've been much more obedient lately, but I don't care what you do in your area, and you can't control what I do here either!" Lai Mazi pushed Fu Bo aside and walked towards Lin Yan.
"You absolutely have to give me this filial piety gift today!"
Lin Yan glanced at Fu Bo, who pursed his lips at her, awkwardly touched his forehead, indicating that the negotiation had failed.
Lin Yan sighed, thinking she could save some effort.
She looked at Lai Mazi who had walked up to her, smiled, and then punched him in the eye socket.
Caught off guard by the attack, Lai Mazi covered his eyes and cried out. Seeing their leader beaten, his henchmen rushed forward to deal with Lin Yan. "You little bitch, how dare you hit our boss!"
As a result, Lin Yan knocked them all to the ground with a single punch each, leaving them clutching their stomachs and faces and howling in pain.
Lai Ma realized what was happening and pointed at Lin Yan, "You, you dare to hit me?!"
"Didn't you say you wanted to show your filial piety? This is my filial piety!" Lin Yan shrugged. Then she added, "Oh, right, you guys said I should give more!"
As he spoke, he punched Lai Mazi twice more, and Lai Mazi fell to the ground and couldn't get up.
Lin Yan brandished her fists and punched the crowd twice more in the face, sending shivers down their spines. Fu Bo, meanwhile, recalled some past events he didn't want to remember.
"So, do you still want it? Do you want this as a token of my respect?" Lin Yan asked with a smile.
"No, no, I don't want it anymore!" Lai Mazi clutched his head, curled up on the ground, and wouldn't move. Only his cries for mercy could be heard.
"You don't want it anymore? I still have quite a lot!" Lin Yan said regretfully.
"Enough! Enough! That's enough!" Lai Mazi begged for mercy, trembling.
The onlookers were in an uproar. "Isn't Lai Mazi supposed to be a good fighter?"
"Yes, isn't it?"
"So many grown men can't beat a little girl, that's just too embarrassing!"
"If I'd known they were so easy to deal with, I wouldn't have paid them protection money last time. Sigh~" The steamed bun vendor stomped his foot.
Unfortunately, only the thugs lying on the ground knew how hard Lin Yan's punch had been, oh, and Fu Bo, who was still standing.
Lin Yan didn't want to waste too much time on them; she still had to sell her goods.
"Get up!" Upon hearing Lin Yan's command, Lai Mazi quickly endured the pain and sat up, his face full of flattery. "Hehehe! What is it?"
"Pay for this bag of dried apricots! And get out!"
Lai Mazi glanced at his bag of dried apricots scattered on the ground and hurriedly nodded, "Ah, right, right! I have to pay!"
He took out a tael of silver from his pocket and handed it to Lin Yan, "Is this enough?"
Lin Yan looked at him and smiled without saying a word.
Lai Mazi quickly took out all the money from his pocket and handed it to her without even counting it.
Lin Yan turned and gestured to Lin Yu, who grinned and came over to collect the money. This guy's got some money to burn; he must have at least two taels of silver!
"Get lost!" Lin Yan said with satisfaction.
Lai Mazi and his henchmen quickly got up and ran, afraid of being stopped again.
Lai Ma saw Fu Bo standing to the side with a look of amusement on his face, and he was furious. This guy kept saying he couldn't afford to mess with him, but he didn't tell her he couldn't beat him!
