Chapter 475: Everyone knows
Chapter 475: Everyone knows
"How did you come across this medicine, Madam?"
"She found it on her, probably because she wanted to use it on me."
The guard, who had been hesitant about whether to give the beggar the pills, didn't say a word and directly grabbed the beggar's chin and stuffed two pills into his mouth.
The drug worked extremely quickly; the person on the ground, who had clearly lost consciousness, began to writhe on the ground.
The guards naturally knew what was going on and quickened their pace once again.
Just as they were about to feed Zhuang Lijuan one as well, Lin Rusi suddenly turned around and looked at them.
"Wait, she doesn't need to take those medicines. Just splash some water on her, but remember not to wake her up."
"Yes."
To make them look even more disheveled, a basin of water was poured on them three times, causing the clothes to become slightly disheveled.
The guards didn't linger their gaze on the other person, but stared straight at Lin Rusi, ready to follow orders.
"Since we've already gone this far, let's make a big scene."
"Does Madam intend to let the Zhuang family know about this?"
Although Lin Rusi did not speak, she nodded and looked up at the location of the dealer.
She did not intend to use her own family members to approach Zhuang's father.
After much deliberation, he finally let out a sigh.
"The rest is up to you, but you must never let the Zhuang family know that this was my doing, and even less should they think it was the Crown Prince's doing."
"Yes, I will make sure no one notices."
Satisfied with this response, Lin Rusi turned her gaze away and looked directly at the teahouse next door.
As soon as she sat down, one of the guards immediately set off quickly toward the Zhuang family.
"Mr. Zhuang, Miss Zhuang has disappeared!"
"Why are you shouting? Juan'er is just going to the palace to accompany the Empress Dowager, she won't be seen."
The father raised his hand and slapped the servant to the ground, telling him to stop talking nonsense.
But to everyone's surprise, the little man actually took out a handkerchief and handed it to the other person.
"How is this going?"
"I don't know either. I was unloading goods in the backyard just now, and a beggar was holding that handkerchief and sniffing it over and over, looking at it like that..."
The servant's expression was rather unpleasant, which made Zhuang's father realize something, and he turned around and rushed outside.
Unexpectedly, the beggar holding the steamed bun was so frightened by his aggressive appearance that he turned and ran away.
"Stop right there, or I'll break your legs."
"They're all going to break my legs. Only a fool wouldn't run!"
The beggar sped up again, quickly putting distance between himself and Zhuangfu.
Never expecting this to happen, Zhuang's father's breathing became heavier and heavier, and finally he couldn't help but gasp and stop.
"Master, could this be something that person found somewhere?"
"Impossible. This is a handkerchief I just bought for Juan'er recently. She likes it very much, so why would she just throw it away like that?"
Finally catching up, Mrs. Zhuang saw the handkerchief in Mr. Zhuang's hand and snatched it away.
Hearing his wife's words, he couldn't possibly let the beggar go, and he rushed forward again.
Fortunately, seeing that no one was chasing him, the beggar stopped a short distance away and lay down to rest.
Several people quietly stepped forward and grabbed the beggar.
"Tell me! Where did you come from to see this handkerchief?"
"Please don't kill me! I'll tell you where I found it."
Mr. Zhuang was about to say something else when his arm was tightly grabbed by Mrs. Zhuang.
"Okay, hurry up and tell us where Juan'er is."
The force applied even more, causing the beggar to scream in pain.
For the sake of his arm, and in order to survive, the beggar could only point to the street where he had found the items.
Fearing he had been tricked, Zhuang's father nodded to the servants and grabbed the beggar, quickly walking forward.
Lin Rusi saw the figures of several people appear on the second floor and knew it was time to take the next step. She directly raised her hand and threw a teacup at a passerby near the alley.
"Who is it?! How dare they throw the blankets around like that?!"
Lin Rusi nodded to one of the guards, indicating that he should acknowledge the matter.
"Sorry, I saw a big rat near your feet. I thought my aim was pretty good, but it turns out I was still a bit lacking."
"A big rat? That won't do. We'll go in and kill that rat right now."
Never having expected such an excuse, Lin Rusi nodded to the guard, then raised her hand and waved for him to leave immediately.
The next instant, another exclamation came from inside the alley, and several people ran out in a disheveled state.
"What's wrong? Are you all afraid of this rat, big as men?"
"No, there's a woman and several ragged beggars inside, I'm afraid..."
Several lecherous men, upon hearing this, immediately tried to squeeze inside, but were blocked by the other women nearby.
The group exchanged glances, deciding to split up and check what was happening inside.
But soon another hoarse voice could be heard.
"It's in that alley. Can you let me go now?"
"Is it really inside?"
Zhuang's father still didn't believe it, and let out another cold laugh, preparing to throw the beggar in to confirm the situation.
But before he could finish speaking, the murmurs of conversation from the people around him suddenly broke out.
"What exactly did those beggars and women inside do? I just caught a glimpse of them, and the woman had a shapely figure and her clothes were made of very fine fabric. I'm afraid she..."
"I'm afraid you haven't seen anything clearly and are already spouting nonsense!"
Zhuang's father had already realized what was happening, and his face turned frighteningly grim. He immediately ordered the servants he had brought to block the alley entrance, and he led his men inside quickly.
The alley wasn't deep, but it wasn't shallow either. By the time he ran into the depths, the people outside had already started making a ruckus.
"That man seems to be the master of the Zhuang family. By the way, did you hear what that beggar said earlier? Could it be the young lady of the Zhuang family inside?"
"How could that be? Isn't that a favorite of the Empress Dowager? Why would she come to this place?"
Upon hearing this, Lin Rusi looked at the guard sitting beside her with a mocking expression and ordered him to go into the crowd and say a few more words.
But just as they were about to leave, she suddenly had a change of heart and called them back.
"That's enough. This is enough to teach her a lesson. If she still doesn't listen to advice, don't blame me for being ruthless."
"Madam is still the kindest."
Is it kind?
Lin Rusi couldn't help but chuckle at these words, and then looked at Zhuang's father who came out of the alley again.
"You haven't done anything here yet, so get out of the way. If that girl doesn't survive, it's all your fault."
"When did Master Zhuang become a benevolent person, wanting to help a woman with no relatives or friends like this?"
As soon as he finished speaking, the people around him let out a cold laugh and stared intently at the alley entrance.
Knowing he couldn't fool them, Zhuang's father had no choice but to have his servants bring the person who had spoken earlier to his side.
