Traveling back in time to take care of Sung Deok-sun

Chapter 68: Concern leads to chaos

Chapter 68: Concern leads to chaos

Zhengfeng was the only one left at home. He was anxiously carrying a Rubik's Cube towards Aze's house, clearly needing Aze's help urgently...

"Oh, Uncle, I'd like to see Aze~" Zhengfeng said with an embarrassed smile as he looked at Aze's father who came to open the door for him.

"Oh, Zhengfeng, Aze isn't home. He's at the chess academy and hasn't come back yet," Aze's father said with a smile.

"Ah!" Zhengfeng was stunned for a moment.

"Zhengfeng, is there something you need to talk to Aze about?"

"I can pass on the message for you."

Aze's father looked at Zhengfeng and said.

"Oh, it's nothing! It's nothing!"

"Excuse me, Uncle."

Zhengfeng went home looking dejected, probably ready to spend the rest of his time battling with the Rubik's Cube in his room...

......

At the Korea Baduk Association, Taek is playing Go against a player.

The director of the chess academy pushed open the door and walked straight towards Aze.

Aze glanced at the minister sitting next to him and nodded slightly as a greeting.

"Minister, it's Sunday today, what brings you here?" another Go player asked curiously.

The dean smiled slightly, not answering directly, but looking at Aze and saying:

"As for Choi Taek, 6th dan, he should take a break on Sunday too!"

"For him, this is a break!" another Go player joked.

The dean sighed deeply and looked at Aze earnestly, saying:

"How could you possibly win all day long!"

"Losing is possible, you know!"

"They say losing is a kind of experience, right?"

"Just consider this a good experience!"

"Just forget about it!"

Aze sighed as he listened to the dean's words, then lowered his head, lost in thought.

"No matter what!"

"Cui Ze, 6th dan, is still ranked number one!"

"It's okay~! It's okay~!"

"You don't need to take it to heart!"

The dean patted Aze on the shoulder, constantly encouraging and inspiring him. Seeing Aze bowing his head and remaining silent, the dean continued.

"Others lose twenty or thirty times a year!"

"If we're judging by win rate, wow! That's quite impressive!"

Seeing that Aze didn't answer, another Go player couldn't help but speak up to comfort him:

"That's true, no one can win all the time, right?"

Aze remained silent, his silence almost unspoken. His competitive spirit was exceptionally strong; this was a crucial crossroads in his Go career, one he wouldn't easily overcome...

Back at Shu-yu's house, looking at Deok-sun asleep in bed and the doll-like creature sleeping on the floor, Liu Shu-yu was truly exhausted. He had lost count of how many times he had called them...

Forget it, I've learned enough today anyway, I'm tired, let's just destroy it...

Meanwhile, on Bora's side, Sunwoo and Jung-hwan were being scolded by her. Although their grades were quite good, Bora still found many problems with them and gave them all a stern talking-to...

Jung-hwan seemed a bit upset by what Bora said, while Sun-woo was quite happy, apparently enjoying being guided by Bora...

......

At night, on his way back from the chess academy, Aze saw Paula's parents shopping in a shop.

"You haven't forgotten that you're going to Deoksun School tomorrow, have you?" Paula's mother reminded her husband as she paid the bill.

"You, who knows when your work at the bank will end?! Go by yourself!" Paula's father replied with a hint of reluctance.

"Send two people! This is the first interview for the entrance exam!"

"Two people have to go! How can I go alone!"

Paula's mother said angrily.

"Okay, okay, just tell me the important part of what you're saying!"

"I'll be there!"

Paula's father was somewhat annoyed by Paula's mother's nagging.

"Don't go around chatting with people after you've finished work!"

"The bank will call me as soon as they close for the day!"

"You don't like calling home either!"

"Look, Zhengfeng's dad called home just an hour after arriving at the store!"

"Look at other people's husbands, and then look at yours~"

Paula's mother continued her incessant nagging, even comparing her husband to other men, which made Paula's father frown.

"Okay! I know! Just say a short part!"

"I'm not your child!"

"Why do you keep going on and on once you start talking?!"

Paula's dad quickly interrupted Paula's mom...

They've been married for many years, and they've gotten through all the ups and downs together. Their bickering has probably become a regular occurrence...

"Huh? Aze?"

"Ah..."

Paula's mother quickly stopped Paula's father from shouting.

"What?"

"Aze just lost the game, don't be rude! (meaning don't mention the game), watch your mouth!" Paula's mother whispered a warning to Paula's father.

“I know!” Paula’s father shoved Paula’s mother indignantly.

“Master Cui! Hello!” Paula’s father called out.

Upon hearing the sound, Aze looked up and saw Paula's father waving and greeting them. He quickly took two steps forward, stood in front of them, and bowed slightly to say hello.

"Oh, right!"

"Have a bottle of this!"

Paula's dad rummaged through the plastic bag, took out a bottle of milk, and handed it to Aze.

Aze respectfully accepted the gift with both hands and nodded his thanks.

"Also, your dad and you, come to our house for dinner later!" Paula's dad called out enthusiastically to Aze.

"Auntie is going to add beef to the seaweed soup today!"

Do you like seaweed soup?

Paula's mother added that what she didn't see was that as soon as she mentioned seaweed soup, Paula's father's expression suddenly changed.

"Thank you~ It's okay, I'll take my leave now~" Aze understood that they were trying to comfort him, so he thanked them politely and took his leave.

"Okay! Take care!" Paula's father smiled as he saw Aze off.

Watching Aze walk away, Paula's mother couldn't help but mutter with concern.

"Oh dear~, you're completely listless~"

"Kill you!"

Paula's father watched as Taek walked away and then grinned at Paula's mother, leaving her stunned.

"Have you given all your sharp eyesight to the neighbor's dog-catching guy?"

"They've already lost the game terribly, why are you still telling them to drink seaweed soup?"

(P.S.: Kelp is slippery, so in South Korea, drinking kelp soup during exams or competitions is a bad omen, implying slipping and failing.)

"Yup!"

"Oh my God!"

"What should I do?"

"I completely forgot about it!"

Paula's mother woke up instantly, jumping up and down in embarrassment.

"Then hurry up and apologize!"

"Ouch!" Paula's father gave his wife a disdainful look, then turned and left.

Paula's mother paced anxiously in place, hesitating whether or not she should apologize to Taek.

It seems Paula's mother was just too worried...
