Chapter 121: Palace Monster

After returning to the palace, Lily and her team were preparing to rest, but were interrupted by an urgent report. A monster appeared in the palace and injured many guards. The emperor personally summoned Lily and her team and asked them to investigate.

Lily and her team rushed to the scene, only to see a group of guards surrounding a messy garden, all with terrified expressions on their faces. Mo Li quickly stepped forward and asked about the situation: "Where did the monster come from?"

"No one knew. It suddenly appeared, roaring, and knocked over flower beds and stone sculptures," said an injured guard.

"Let me see." Lao Hu rolled up his sleeves, looking like he was ready to do something big. Lily nodded and motioned for everyone to follow.

They entered the garden carefully, searching for traces of the monster. Suddenly, a low roar came from the depths of the garden, making people's eardrums ache. Lily and Mo Li looked at each other and then quickened their pace.

After going around a neatly trimmed bush, they finally saw the monster. It was a giant beast covered with scales, shaped like a lizard magnified countless times, and spewing blue flames from its mouth.

"This is such a big monster!" exclaimed Lao Hu.

Lily drew her sword and prepared to fight. Mo Li and Lao Hu also took out their weapons. Just as they were about to rush forward, a figure suddenly jumped out from the side. It was the mysterious time traveler.

"Haha, this monster is my out-of-control pet." The time traveler explained with an awkward smile, "I was experimenting with a space-time stabilizer, and this guy ran out."

"This experiment of yours is too outrageous!" Lily said helplessly.

"Sorry, sorry, I'll take care of it." The time traveler took out a small device that flashed blue light and pressed a button. When the monster saw the device, it immediately became docile and lay on the ground obediently.

"Is it done?" Old Hu widened his eyes.

"Yes, this device can control its emotions." The Time Traveler smiled, "But it was frightened and needs some time to recover."

Lily breathed a sigh of relief: "Can you notify us in advance next time? We almost thought that the palace was going to be demolished."

"Of course, of course. I'll pay attention." The time traveler nodded repeatedly.

Just when everyone was relaxed, the ground suddenly shook, as if something huge was moving underground. Lily and Mo Li quickly became alert and looked around. They saw the ground cracked and a huge tentacle stretched out from the ground and wrapped around the monster.

"What the hell is this thing?" Mo Li exclaimed.

"Oh no! This is a monster from underground that was lured out by the monster's aura." The time traveler's face changed drastically. "This thing is more dangerous than the monster."

Lily and the team immediately entered combat mode. Mo Li slashed at the tentacles with his sword, while Lao Hu used his mechanical skills to try to weaken the monster. Lily rushed to the core of the monster, trying to find its weakness.

The battle was extremely fierce, and the monster's tentacles kept attacking them. Lily dodged the attacks swiftly, and finally found a crystal stone that was glowing red in the monster's abdomen. She quickly drew her sword and stabbed the crystal stone. The monster let out a shrill scream, and its tentacles began to twitch wildly.

"Keep attacking the crystal!" Lily shouted.

Mo Li and Lao Hu heard the order and concentrated their efforts to attack the crystal. The time traveler also joined the battle, using his small device to emit strong light to interfere with the monster's vision. In the end, the crystal was destroyed, and the monster let out a final scream, turning into a cloud of black smoke and dissipating in the air.

Everyone sat on the ground exhausted, breathing heavily. The time traveler patted his chest and said, "This time, we had a close call."

"Your experiment almost wiped out our entire army this time." Lily said with a wry smile.

"Sorry, sorry, I will be more careful." The time traveler looked sincere.

Lily nodded and returned to the palace to report the situation to the emperor. After listening, the emperor sighed: "Your courage and wisdom saved the palace. On behalf of all my subjects, I thank you."

Lily and the team thanked the emperor and decided to take a break to prepare for the next adventure. Although they didn't know what challenges they would encounter in the future, they were ready to face all unknown dangers and surprises.
